Outerbanks Family Photoshoot

This past summer when we went to the Outerbanks, I booked a photographer for a little family photoshoot. I find if it’s a professional doing the pictures, the kids are more likely to be cooperative. My children happen to like being the stars, so we had a lot of fun. We came up with a few of the “fun” compositions; some worked, some didn’t. I included a few of the “in between” moments, since that is our real life.

The picture of us “stacked” was at my kids’ request. We had done that a few years ago during our last photoshoot when we were in Dominican Republic, so the kids wanted to replicate it. However, everyone is getting bigger, so it was a real challenge!! I dread when it comes time for our next photoshoot in a few years – we may have to re-arrange the order!

Without further ado, here’s my family that I love so much:

  1. Oh, how fun! The last one is incredible. They all are! I did a large family last week and we did similar poses, but instead of on sand, we did them on leaves! Beautiful and different.
I’m all for hiring the pros!!!

  2. Leah! I love these! Your family is GORGEOUS!I love them all but I think I love the one where you guys are standing on the lifeguard’s post. Maybe because you don’t see that a lot (or ever 🙂 ). The in-betweens are so awesome because they capture your family’s fun spirit. So happy you shared these.

    • Thank you, Ann Marie! Rob came up with the lifeguard post idea. I like that one too! And the in between moments are always my favourite!!

  3. Love these! What a beautiful family! I know you have step-kids, but you all look like you’re from the same family–but it’s not the biological glue that holds you together, it’s the love (speaking as an adoptee and as a step-mother). I love seeing personal pictures of bloggers–you really feel like you get to know them better. You look like a happy, healthy family–and that’s really nice to have especially the second time around. Wishing you continued success!

    • I love this comment! Thank you!!! We certainly feel that way. The biological stuff is a “technicality” for us as parents and certainly between siblings.

  4. First of all, you guys are gorgeous! Together and individually. Second of all, it’s not difficult to see the love among all of you in these photos. You guys just shine. And I love the shot of you all jumping. Just love it.

    • Thanks, Ilene! We had a lot of fun doing the shoot and we have a lot of fun together in general, so it is quite representative!
