Well Christmas 2020 was NOT the usual.
But nothing about 2020 was usual.
With Zach being on his mission in Calgary (Lethbridge) and Gabe stuck in the US waiting for his green card, we knew we were down two for another year (last year Zach was in Tahiti and Gabe spent Christmas with his in-laws). But this year, my mom and sister also couldn’t travel to us. So it was pretty low-key.
I didn’t even get my Christmas letter out, or our quote wall up!
But we did do some things:
Let’s back track a little….
We set up our tree the last weekend in November. Strange having only two to do it with….
Meanwhile Zach was doing the same thing in Lethbridge:
Quiet Elfie made his yearly debut. His twin was busy in Colorado with Gabe and Elfie Muhu Muhu in Lethbridge with Zach. Luckily they all arrived wearing masks (and sweaters).
We talked to Zach on pdays and he was in Christmas cheer.
Josh was too.
Reggie loved being under the tree as always:
We were able still make some cookies and then brought them to our usuals. We have pretty nice COVID visit too.
Finally Christmas Eve, we were able to zoom with everybody for our usual Christmas Eve. It was really nice!
Then the family gifts and dinner:
Meanwhile in Lethbridge:
Christmas Day Rob and I were solo but spent a lot of time talking to Zach. I don’t think we did a thing but lie on the couch all day:)
On the 26th we had a big zoom call with extended family – and it was so nice!
New Years was pretty chill too. Rob had I made a really great dinner. The little boys were out, but Zach called and rang the new year in with us.
Here’s to 2021!
