Mother’s Day in NYC

It was kind of nice to be in NYC for Mother’s Day and to have Zach there (that was my Mother’s Day gift to me). (Josh is up tree planting in northern Alberta this summer again, and Sam is also up in Northern Ontario tree planting).

We had decided to spend Mother’s Day separately (so Shannon with her parents and the Gabe & Zandra with their mom). So it was just Zach, Rob and me.

We had tickets to Hamilton which I was so excited about! Before that we did a bit of shopping – but then ran out of time to get food before Hamilton!

We had to get some hot dogs on the street and got royally ripped off – $40 for 3 hot dogs and a coke! Insane. Prices are so ridiculous it is annoying . It was also rainy though so we took what we could get!

We went to see Hamilton and it was amazing!! So so good!

After the show, we had dinner reservations at an Italian place in Hell’s kitchen where he had been several times before (called Becco). We had a great meal!

We went to Smackary’s cookies (names after the owner Zackary) and then walked around a bit more (stopped in FAO Schwartz).

We ended up back at Gabe and Shannon’s and hung out for a bit before heading back to our hotel.

Another highlight was getting all the messages and texts from the kids!

Zach also made me an incredible gift: He made these brains! (What a perfect gift for me – one day they will hang up a nice big home office – I was thinking I’d make stickers of them too!)

Don’t you love all the different angles and planes?!?!

It was such a great Mothers day.

  1. Love Becco’s. My daughter went to NYU and my husband’s family is on Long Island so we’ve been able to visit there quite a few times! Miss your posts…and can’t find you on Instagram 🙃
